Lovely clean rooms. Very comfy beds and lovely hot shower Breakfasts spot on, hot and not overdone buffet style.. The staff are friendly and helpful but overstretched bless em, so you just need a bit of patience. As a van driver parking is limited at the very front of the building. Been twice now on business, pubs and curry are a short walk away but the food is good in the hotel and the beer is cold so why move?!

We stayed there on the 10/8/20. Upon arriving, we were attended to quickly and were given a form to choose for breakfast (Covid aware- no breakfast buffet) which is quite limited but understandable with what is going on. The room was clean and comfy. Our bedding was a bit stained but this was replaced immediately upon contacting reception. The manager in charge Andy even came to our room to apologise personally & presented us with drink vouchers. It is also a must to mention the lady dishing out the pre ordered breakfast, she is courteous & although alone managed to do a good job serving a number of guests that morning. In all, a good service from the staffs.

The hotel is in a great location for people wanting fly from the airport. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I always inspect the rooms before I unpack and found that they were very clean. The best facility has to be the gym and swimming. Very well kept and great for kids.

Long review (sorry), we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (Birmingham South) on 27 Nov 21. Here’s my review – oh and this is a genuine review (I’m not a bot). When you arrive at the hotel there is a car park (entrance just to the right of the main door) and you can put your reg. into the screen in reception. They ask for a £25 deposit for the car park and this is returned when you leave, less the parking cost. And speaking of cars. It’s a couple of miles to the city center so you may want to get a taxi if you’re going to a show or something else. You can drive but the local council has put a new tax of cars in the center. You can add you registration to their website to see if you need to pay it. Oh and Birmingham city center is basically a building site at the moment as they are adding tram lines all over the place - so I would get a taxi if you can. The hotel's rooms are much larger than many other 3* hotels and they are (well ours was) very clean. The room has a rather small double – but it was OK. There is a flat screen TV with loads of channels, plus tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast is included in the room cost. It’s buffet style so you can take what you want. There are hot and cold choices e.g. Bacon, sausages, beans, scrambled eggs, plus warm croissants, toast machines, etc, etc. Plus porridge, cereals, etc. The hotel bar has a good selection of beers, spirits, etc and – compared to most other hotels – it’s quite cheap. A special thank you must go to the lady working in the bar called Cherish, who was really a very nice and chatty person and made our visit to the bar very enjoyable. She is training to be a paramedic so if you were to have a few too many and slip of the bar-stool, you’d be in good company :-) Another special mention must be made about Kerry who works in the reception. She seems to be an expert in just sorting things out when it’s needed. Plus she is a local, so she was able to give us loads of information about the area. Highly efficient and made the check in/out very easy. We tend to stay in many hotels and most of the times there is some small gripe, but in this one we didn’t have any. All in all a simple no frills Birmingham hotel which is reasonable priced, clean and friendly. What more do you want. As Arni would say, we’ll be back.

It was a lovely place to stay at. The room was very well priced & the room was actually a very good sized room. It could have done with a little more update to be honest but I didn’t complain. The sofa bed needed a little cleaning on the top. Parking for £4 was fine overnight, it was safe, secure and convenient. The free breakfast was brilliant. A huge variety of foods to choose from, cereals, beans on toast, eggs, croissants, fruits, even vegetarian sausage on request! Plenty of coffee, water & apple juice. Overall great stay & staff didn’t need to do much at all. Easy to find on the main road just keep a look out on left ! I would highly recommend.

Good quality rooms which are generously sized. The bathrooms are great and spotlessly clean. Breakfast offered a decent choice. Parking is available at a cost but is cheaper if you book in advance with the room. Nice bar area and restaurant offered a decent range but it's more microwave meals than Gastro Dining. Staff are really good.
